Demolition and tear-out in Northwest Indiana
Kitchens, baths, basements, walls and old structures taken down and taken away. Good demolition is measured by what is still standing afterwards.
What the job includes
- Identify load-bearing walls before anything is opened
- Cap and isolate affected electrical, water and gas lines
- Protect floors, stairs and doorways along the haul route
- Selective tear-out where finishes underneath are being kept
- Debris loaded, hauled and disposed of legally
- Swept, broom-clean handover ready for the next trade
Signs you need this
- A remodel that needs the old kitchen or bath out first
- A wall you want removed and are not sure whether you can
- Fire, smoke or flood damage that has to come out before rebuild
- An old shed, deck or interior structure past saving
How the work runs
You describe the job
Address, what needs doing, and when you would like it. No phone tag to get a person to come and look, and no account to create first — that happens when you submit.
You get a written quote
An itemised document, not a number over the phone. You read it, and you sign it online if you want it. Nothing starts before that signature.
You watch it happen
Each stage of the work is marked off and photographed by the crew as they go. You can see where the job actually is without asking anybody.
You keep the record
Materials, warranties, permits, photographs and cost stay attached to your property permanently — so the next owner, or your insurer, can see exactly what was done.
We work with a vetted network of licensed, insured contractors across Northwest Indiana.
Common questions
How do I know if a wall I want gone is load-bearing?
You often cannot tell from the finished side, which is exactly why it gets checked before anything is opened. We look at the direction of the joists above, what sits directly below in the basement, and whether the wall stacks with anything on the floor above. If it is bearing, it needs a beam and a permit, not a sledgehammer.
Is the debris removal included or separate?
Included and quoted as its own line, so you can see what the hauling and tipping fees actually are rather than having them buried in a labour rate. Disposal in this region is priced by weight and material, so a plaster tear-out and a cabinet tear-out are not the same cost.
Can you demolish just part of a room and leave the rest?
Yes — that is selective demolition and it is most of what we do. It is slower and more careful than a full gut because everything staying has to be protected and every cut line has to be planned, and the quote reflects that.
What about asbestos or lead in an older house?
Northwest Indiana has a lot of pre-1980 housing stock, so this comes up regularly. Suspect materials get tested before disturbance, and if a result comes back positive the work becomes licensed abatement handled by a specialist. We will not knowingly disturb it.
